Details on how to apply
Obtain a network provider order for abdominal aortic aneurysm screening.
Schedule the test at a network facility selected by the network provider.
It is likely that the scheduling department of that facility will reach out to schedule the ultrasound.
Attend the appointment and complete the test.
Following results, engage in recommended follow-up treatment and/or referrals.
If transportation is needed to and from the appointment:
Call (877) 718-4219 (TTY: 711), M-F 8am-8pm, at least 48 hours in advance of the needed transportation.
Have the date, time, location, and reason for transportation ready when calling.
Receive authorization and guidance on scheduling the transportation service.
Get confirmation of scheduled transportation.
Use the transportation service to and from the appointment.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm, also known verbally as a "Triple-A" or written as an "AAA".
This benefit is a one-time ultrasound for people at risk for an enlarged and weakened area in the lower part of the aorta (the major vessel that supplies blood to the body). Abdominal aortic aneurysms may have no symptoms and are typically discovered in the process of investigating another, unrelated health issue. They can pose a serious health threat, though oftentimes just need to be monitored, and in some cases can be surgically repaired. However, in order to be managed, they must first be found.
Eligible individuals must have certain risk factors that include a family history of AAA, presence of other aneurysms, advanced age (especially if a Caucasian male aged 65-75) and have smoked at least 100 cigarettes over their lifetime, medical conditions affecting the arteries like high blood pressure (hypertension) and diabetes (type 1 and type 2), and poor lifestyle habits such as smoking, drinking, unhealthy diet, and lack of exercise.
If an abdominal aortic aneurysm is discovered upon ultrasound, the care team will work with your loved one to develop a care plan that includes ongoing services and specialists.
